A few months ago, I photographed my friend's new baby boys at Florida Hospital South. Here's a little back story about how they came to be...
After mom was emergency airlifted from a hospital in Daytona Beach to Florida Hospital in Orlando, Patrick and Christopher were born 13 weeks early (referred to as 27-weekers) and weighted one pound, 12 ounces each. From the start, they were given good prognoses, but it didn't stop them from having ventilators, CPAPs, nasal canulas, infections, surgeries, steroids, feeding tubes, IVs, and medicines. After 89 days in the NICU, Patrick came home. Christopher followed four weeks later after a total of 115 days in the NICU. They continue to do well. At eight months, both are over 12 pounds and are still on oxygen (Patrick is night-time only; Christopher is continuous). They laugh and cry, roll over, and are starting baby food. They love puppy dogs, being read to, naps, baseball and hockey.
